Lahore, Punjab weather: Increase in Smog/fog intensity likely

LAHORE – Cold and dry weather will continue to prevail in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Friday night and during the weekend.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, cold and dry weather will likely persist in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

Smog/fog will likely persist in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu and Bahawalpur. High pollution due to a persistent dryness and low temperatures will cause a gradual increase in the smog/fog intensity during the coming days.

Lahore’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 08°C and 10°C on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Smog/fog prevailed over plain areas.

Murree remained the coldest place in Punjab, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 01°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 49 per cent.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 09°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 50 per cent.
