Lahore and Karachi are among the three most polluted cities in the world, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) of 467 and 226, respectively.
India’s Delhi leads the list of the world’s most polluted cities, as the AQI hits the hazardous level of 647.
According to the data collected from the IQ Air website on Sunday at 12:27 pm, Lahore (Pakistan) is at the second spot with an AQI of 467 (hazardous), followed by Pakistan’s Karachi with an AQI of 226 (very unhealthy).
Cairo (Egypt) ranked fourth with an AQI of 208 (very unhealthy), followed by Nepal’s Kathmandu with an AQI of 176 (unhealthy).
Mumbai (India) ranked sixth with an AQI of 159 (unhealthy), closely followed by Kabul (Afghanistan) with an AQI of 158 (unhealthy).
Kuwait City (Kuwait) and Kolkata (India) are ranked eighth and ninth with an AQI of 156 (unhealthy). Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) is ranked tenth with an AQI of 127 (unhealthy for sensitive groups).
AQI of the top two cities (Lahore, Delhi) is hazardous, that of the third and fourth cities (Karachi, Cairo) is very unhealthy, that of the fifth to ninth is unhealthy, while that of the tenth to 14th cities is unhealthy for sensitive groups.
