LAHORE – Authorities in provincial capital launched sweeping crackdown on security arrangements in housing societies, ordering a comprehensive audit of all residential communities to assess safety standards and identify gaps in surveillance and enforcement.
CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed that security systems across housing societies be immediately upgraded, with officials instructed to compile detailed audit reports and submit them to the relevant authorities without delay.
Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against societies found lacking adequate security arrangements, signalling an intensified regulatory push across the city’s gated communities.
Under the directives, housing societies have been told to ensure full installation and active monitoring of CCTV cameras, deployment of modern security screening systems at entry and exit points besides strengthening of surveillance mechanisms to ensure real-time monitoring of movement within residential areas.

Armed Invasions in Bahria Orchard
In Bahria Orchard, several incidents of house robberies have been reported where armed groups entered residential homes, tied up occupants, and stole cash and jewellery.
Residents repeatedly raised concerns about inadequate patrolling and delayed response times, with such incidents widely discussed on social media as evidence of growing insecurity in gated communities.
DHA Robbery
One of the most serious incidents reported involved armed robbery in DHA Phase A, where a family was held hostage during Ramadan Sehri hours. The attackers reportedly looted around 200 tolas of gold, diamond jewellery worth Rs 12.5 million, cash, and foreign currency, with total losses exceeding Rs 190 million.
The coordinated nature of the operation raised alarm over entry-point vulnerabilities even in high-security zones, despite later arrests of some suspects.
Bahria Nasheman Robberies
Similar criminal patterns have emerged in Bahria Nasheman, where gangs stormed homes, held families hostage, and looted valuables. These repeated incidents have intensified concerns about the effectiveness of existing security arrangements in the area.
OPF Society Robbery
In OPF Society, a daylight robbery incident was captured on CCTV footage, showing criminals targeting residents in a residential setting. The case further highlighted concerns about surveillance gaps and rapid response limitations even in monitored societies.
Kahna Societies Firing Incidents
In housing societies around Kahna, incidents of armed robbery attempts have escalated to firing after security challenges were raised. These confrontations underline increasing risks in peri-urban residential zones where security infrastructure remains uneven.
Authorities also ordered an increase in trained security guards, alongside efforts to strengthen gated community structures aimed at restricting unauthorised access and improving internal control over residential zones.
Societies have further been directed to maintain complete resident databases and ensure proper visitor logs and entry–exit records, as part of tighter monitoring and accountability measures.
Officials stressed the need to enhance coordination between private security companies and housing society administrations, warning that weak coordination often leads to security lapses. They added that the use of modern surveillance technology and advanced monitoring systems will play a key role in strengthening crime prevention and improving overall law enforcement effectiveness in residential areas.
The move marks one of the most extensive security audit initiatives in Lahore’s housing sector in recent years, reflecting growing concern over urban security management and oversight gaps.
