The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, paying tributes to prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Afzal Guru and other martyrs, said that the Kashmiris were rendering unparalleled sacrifices for their inalienable right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement in Islamabad reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue their struggle till the completion of the great mission of Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Butt and lacs of other martyrs.

He said that the Kashmiris were rendering unparalleled sacrifices for their birthright to self-determination. He said that despite all its coercion and use of military force, India had failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment and therefore it should come to a peaceful solution to the problem by acknowledging the ground realities.

Referring to the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders lodged in different jails of India and the territory, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar i said that there was a fear that they would be treated like Mohammad Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru by India.

He appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the baseless allegations against the detained leaders and put pressure on India to release them.

It is to mention here that India had sent Muhammad Afzal Guru to gallows in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on this day in 2013 for his leading role in the Kashmir freedom movement and buried him in the premises of the jail.—KMS
