All Parties Hurriyat Conference Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar has said that four years of Indian constant siege, heinous crimes and devilish conspiracies have failed to stifle the Kashmiris’ legitimate freedom struggle.

Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, said that the unprecedented steadfastness, firmness and bravery of Kashmiris had time and again proved that their spirit and passion for freedom was invincible and their voice could not be crushed through military might.

Reiterating the call for complete strike in IIOJK and protest rallies all over the world on August 5, he said it is time to give India and the international community a clear message that Kashmiris prefer death over slavery and they would never compromise on their principled stance. On the occasion Kashmiris and Pakistanis will also remind the world that it is bound to implement United Nations resolutions on Kashmir and uphold human rights in the disputed region, he added.

Terming unity the key to success, he urged the people to forge greater unity to thwart India’s nefarious designs and colonial policy. He said 5 August is one of the darkest days in the history of Kashmir and it has a catastrophic impact on the lives of Kashmiris. Since abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A India has turned Kashmir into a vast jail and concentration camp for its inhabitants, he lamented.

Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said over one million trigger-happy troops are engaged in systematic genocide of Kashmiris. Thousands of innocent Kashmiris, he said, are languishing in Indian jails under concocted charges. Thousands have been crippled through brutal torture and hundreds of structures have been blasted, demolished and confiscated with the view to deprive Kashmiris of their land, resources and livelihood, he added.

He said in order to change the demography of occupied Kashmir and dilute the Muslim majority, thousands of non-state Hindus have been granted domiciles and are being settled in the disputed territory. With the intention of grappling Kashmiris, land amendment has been made in land laws and thousands of Indians have been granted land and settled in Kashmir, he deplored.

He urged the civilized world to shun silence and take effective steps for resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute and force India to stop imposing its Hindutva agenda in Kashmir.

Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar thanked the Kashmiri and Pakistani Diaspora for pleading Kashmir cause at international level and said Kashmiris and Pakistanis, living abroad, are the assets and ambassadors of Kashmiris. He urged them to further expedite their efforts to expose India’s ugly face.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader Abdul Samad In-qilabi in a statement in Srinagar appealed to the people of Kashmir to observe August 5 as Black Day to condemn India’s unconstitutional action of August 5, 2019.

He said workers of all political parties will hold protest rallies against Indian state terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Civil society associations will also organize seminars and other programmes to highlight the serious human rights violations by Indian troops in IIOJK.—KMS
