Kashmiri journalist wins Rory Peck Award



In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a Kashmiri journalist, Burhan Butt has won the Rory Peck Award 2022 in News Award Category.

Burhan Butt, who is currently in London for the award ceremony, was announced the winner of the award on Wednesday evening.

Rory Peck Trust is a United Kingdom-based organization that provides practical and financial support to freelance journalists and their families worldwide, assisting in times of crisis and helping them to work more safely and professionally. Last year, Bhat won Newcomer of the Year – Hans Verploeg Award 2021’ by Free Press Unlimited.—KMS
