K2 Airways Offices Sealed As Cargo Jet Crash Probe Gets Underway

ISLAMABAD – A cargo flight from Sharjah to Karachi ended in tragedy when K2 Airways Boeing 737 disappeared from radar before crashing into the Arabian Sea near Ormara.

As investigators race to determine what went wrong, the Pakistan Airport Authority has sealed the airline’s offices, suspending its office operations until the official investigation is completed.

The move comes after K2 Airways Boeing 737 cargo aircraft, flying from Sharjah to Karachi, plunged into the Arabian Sea near Ormara late last night. Preliminary information indicates that a malfunction in the aircraft’s navigation system may have contributed to the tragedy, although investigators have yet to determine the final cause.

The aircraft was under the command of Capt. Rizwan Idrees and Capt. Faisal Jatoi and was carrying a total of five crew members.

The aircraft lost contact with air traffic control at approximately 9:21 p.m. while en route to Karachi, triggering an emergency response and raising fears of a major aviation disaster.

A large-scale search and rescue operation was immediately launched by Pakistani authorities. After nearly 12 hours of relentless efforts in the Arabian Sea, the Pakistan Navy (PN) and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) successfully located and identified the wreckage of the missing Boeing 737.

Officials confirmed that the wreckage was discovered around 53 nautical miles south of Ormara after an extensive operation involving multiple naval vessels, maritime assets, and aerial surveillance.

Recovery teams retrieved significant portions of aircraft from crash site, while search operations continue in an effort to locate the missing crew members. Authorities say the mission will remain active until every possible piece of evidence is recovered and all personnel are accounted for.

The recovered debris will now be handed over to aviation investigators, who will examine the wreckage to determine the sequence of events that led to the crash. Investigators are expected to analyze flight data, technical evidence, and other recovered material as part of the inquiry.

With K2 Airways now under intense scrutiny and its offices sealed pending the outcome of the investigation, the crash has raised serious concerns about aviation safety and operational oversight. Officials have assured that further updates will be shared as rescue efforts continue and the investigation progresses.
