AmeerJamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the destruction of the economy, the plight of the people, the worst inflation, the growing sense of deprivation in the provinces and cities is due to the incompetence and poor performance of the current government.
Addressing a press conference at JI head office here on Sunday, he said 870 days of the government are proof of incompetence and failure and the present opposition has sided with the government in these 870 days.
“The ideology, agenda and program of the opposition are not one but the policies and mistakes of the government have united the opposition. NAB has become a parallel institution to the judiciary and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is also saying that the NAB is exceeding its mandate.
He said under pressure from the IMF, World Bank and FATF, the country and the nation have been held hostage by law. The PTI government is only on paper and nowhere on the ground. The Prime Minister does not consider himself accountable to the people. The current electoral system should be improved before the elections. The country cannot develop without an empowered Election Commission, an independent judiciary and transparent elections.
“There is a need for dialogue on election reforms. Karachi is the economic and ideological lifeblood of the country. The whole city is in ruins and there is a crisis of electricity, gas and water. The PPP provincial government has failed and the PTI federal government has done nothing for Karachi in two years. The MQM is involved in the decisions of the federal government and on the other hand is protesting. The issues of Karachi should have been discussed in the APC of Islamabad.”The present government has also made the army controversial and those who do wrong say that the Establishment is with us
JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Deputy Amir Dr Osama Razi, Secretary Karachi Abdul Wahab, Deputy Secretary Abdul Razzaq Khan and Information Secretary ZahidAskari were also present.
Siraj-ul-Haq said that PPP has been in government in Sindh for a long time. Karachi is also the responsibility of the Sindh government. The MQM has also been in power with the PPP in Karachi and across Sindh and is now in government with the PTI. These three ruling parties have not solved any problem of Karachi. The Prime Minister arrived several days after the city was submerged in rain and announced a package of Rs 1,100 billion, but did not say that Karachi’s population was not counted correctly in the census.
