Observer Report
MQM-Pakistan Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that his party is launching a protest campaign on September 24 through the Karachi March.
Addressing a press conference at Bahadurabad office on Sunday, he said a conspiracy was hatched in the name of quota system and nationalization, adding a party has been ruling Sindh for thirteen years in the name of artificial majority and has deliberately conspired against Karachi.
“Sindh was left at the mercy of a completely corrupt and racist provincial government. In any case, the PTI has a big mandate for Karachi, allied with the federation for the development of Karachi. After the helplessness of the federation for Karachi, it has become necessary for us to recognize the rule of urban areas.
Siddiqui said the bigoted rulers turned Karachi into a big village and demanded that the budget of Rs. 1100 billion which has been given to Karachi in charity should be spent in Karachi.
“This budget should be spent on drainage, sewerage lines, drains and roads. The people of Karachi will now have to take to the streets to see that this fund is spent on Karachi. We had demanded from the federation that we be proved wrong by the formation of Judicial Commission.
He said that ninety percent of jobs in urban areas of Sindh have been filled with fake domiciles.
A fake census was taken here, he claimed, and said the September 24 rally is being held against oppression.
“Whatever flags we hoisted for the rally were immediately taken down overnight. If MQM is to be banned, then it should be announced now, so that we too can be satisfied.”
The MQM-P leaderI urged everyone to join the rally for the right of Karachi irrespective of race, language. “Our rally will start from Jamaat-e-Khana, Karimabad, Karachi. “We are also going to hold our rallies on October 4 in Hyderabad and on October 11 in Mirpur Khas.”
