The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced unconditional support to the government’s efforts for the freedom of Kashmir from Indian yoke.
The decision was made in a meeting of the JI senior leadership at Mansoora on Saturday. JI Secretary General Ameerul Azeem said the JI was standing by the government on Kashmir issue keeping aside the political differences. He said the JI always gave preference to Kashmir cause. The protection of the lives and honor of the people of held region came first from the JI from all other issues, he added.
Azeem welcomed the government decision to include JI Chief Sirajul Haq in Kashmir Committee headed by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
He thanked the Prime Minister Imran Khan on behalf of the party, saying the JI will play its effective role in the said committee and other parliamentary forums on Kashmir. He said official status of the government committee should remain intact in future.—INP
