ISLAMABAD – Islamabad residents are set to enjoy a long weekend in their routine as federal capital prepares for another hoiday.
Islamabad Capital Territory administration announced local holiday on Friday, December 26, due to the visit of a high-level foreign delegation to the federal capital.
The decision was communicated through official notification issued by Additional District Magistrate Sahibzada Muhammad Youaf. According to the notification, the holiday will be observed within the revenue limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory.

The administration clarified that offices providing essential services will remain operational. These include the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), ICT Administration, ICT Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and hospitals.
The move is aimed at facilitating security and administrative arrangements during the visit, while ensuring uninterrupted delivery of essential public services.
