Jerusalem Post Exposed: Afghan not Pakistani behind Bondi Beach incident

Jerusalem Post Exposed Afghan Not Pakistani Behind Bondi Beach Incident

The Jerusalem Post rushed to publish a front-page claim identifying the Bondi Beach attacker as a 24-year-old Pakistani, which later turned out to be an Afghan citizen.

Australian authorities have identified the attacker as an Afghan national from Nangarhar who migrated after 2021. This alone invalidates the Jerusalem Post’s central assertion.

As the reporting proved false with the misidentification of an innocent citizen, the Jerusalem Post has chosen silence over responsibility.

The newspaper published the news without waiting for official confirmation and without citing Australian law enforcement or intelligence authorities.

To justify its narrative, the paper relied on a social media profile of a Pakistani electrical engineer, Naveed Akram, falsely linking him to terrorism. The timeline makes this impossible: the individual completed engineering studies between 2012–2016, meaning he would be 31–32 years old in 2025, not 24.

The man whose photograph was circulated has publicly stated he is completely innocent, warning that the false attribution has endangered his safety, reputation, and well-being. An innocent civilian was dragged into a terror narrative because the Jerusalem Post chose speed and impact over verification.

This elevates the episode from “mistake” to reckless attribution with real-world consequences. The pattern is now unmistakable-narrative first, social media second, official verification absent, and corrections silent or nonexistent.

Even as global scrutiny has intensified around verified cases involving Afghan migrants—from Bondi to Washington and Europe—the Jerusalem Post chose to misdirect blame toward Pakistan, amplifying a false identity while the investigation was still unfolding.

Despite the revelation of truth, there is no apology, no front-page correction and no accountability to readers who were misled. This is not journalism—it is narrative laundering, indistinguishable in method from the very “Godi media” practices the paper claims to oppose.
