ISLAMABAD – Residents of twin cities planning a hike or morning walk in capital will have to change their plans as District Magistrate, Islamabad ordered the closure of several popular hiking and walking trails for one day.
According to official notification, Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4 and Trail 5 will remain closed to the public on August 13, 2026. Citizens will not be permitted to access these trails during the closure.
The administration also ordered closure of trail located behind Saidpur Village for the same day, further restricting access to some of Islamabad’s popular recreational spots.
District Magistrate directed the police and relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure effective implementation of the closure order. Copies of notification have been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and other concerned officials.
Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) and the CDA have also been formally informed about the decision and instructed to make the required arrangements.
Authorities directed the concerned departments to ensure that the designated trails remain inaccessible throughout August 13.
The closure means that hikers, walkers and other visitors will not be allowed to use Trails 2, 3, 4 and 5, as well as the trail behind Saidpur Village, for the day.
Citizens planning outdoor activities in Islamabad are therefore advised to avoid these locations on August 13 and follow the administration’s instructions.
