Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pakistan weather: Severe heat to persist

ISLAMABAD – Severe heat will likely persist in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday and Saturday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan and very hot in plains on Friday and Saturday. Experts have suggested public to take necessary precautionary measures during the next two days. They have advised taking extra care of children and elderly people.

People have been advised to keep hydrated and avoid going outdoors, especially during peak sunshine hours (11AM to 04 PM).

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40°C and 42°C on Friday and between 38°C and 40°C on Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40°C and 42°C on Friday and between 38°C and 40°C on Saturday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas during the last 24 hours. However, 01mm rain occurred in Narowal.

Sibbi and Jacobabad remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 49°C. The maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 48°C, and in Mohenjo-Daro and rohri at 47°C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 36 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 33 per cent.
