KARACHI – The gold and silver prices came down in the local markets across Pakistan following decline in the international bullion rates.
In the global market, gold dropped $43 per ounce to $4,138.
Domestic gold prices also recorded a significant decline.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs4,300 per tola, settling at Rs436,336. The price of 10-gram gold fell by Rs3,687 to Rs374,087.
Silver followed the downward trend, with its price declining by Rs56 per tola to Rs6,522. The price of 10-gram silver was reduced by Rs48 to Rs5,591.
The latest decline came a day after gold had gained Rs2,000 per tola, reaching Rs440,636. The price of 10-gram gold had risen by Rs1,715 to Rs377,774, while silver had increased by Rs50 per tola to Rs6,578.
The bullion market has witnessed considerable fluctuations throughout the week.
On Thursday, gold lost Rs3,000 per tola to settle at Rs438,636.
Gold had risen on Wednesday after remaining under pressure for three consecutive sessions. The price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs4,300 per tola to Rs441,636, while 10-gram gold climbed by Rs3,686 to Rs378,631.
Silver prices also advanced on Wednesday, with the per-tola rate rising Rs20 to Rs6,578 and 10-gram silver increasing by Rs17 to Rs5,639.
On Tuesday, gold extended its decline for a second straight session, shedding Rs800 per tola to Rs437,336. The price of 10-gram gold fell by Rs686 to Rs374,945, while silver decreased by Rs20 per tola to Rs6,558.
The week began with a sharp fall in bullion prices. On Monday, gold dropped Rs12,800 per tola to Rs438,136, while 10-gram gold declined by Rs10,973 to Rs375,631.
Silver also came under pressure at the start of the week, losing Rs325 per tola to close at Rs6,578.
