Widespread rains and gusty winds with heavy falls are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday, with occasional breaks.
Synoptic Situation
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea & Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to strengthen from tonight. A westerly wave is also likely to affect the upper and central parts of the country from tonight.
PMD Forecast
Under these conditions, widespread rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, upper/central Punjab, northeast Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday night and the next two days, with occasional gaps. Heavy and at times very heavy falls may also occur at a few places during the period.
Impacts
Heavy rains may trigger landslides in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad), Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree & Galyat, and Kashmir.
Heavy rains may generate flash flooding in local streams and Nullahs of Kashmir, Murree & Galyat, Northeastern Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan and the northeastern parts of Balochistan.
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad. Windstorm, lightning & heavy rains may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.

Daytime temperatures in Islamabad are expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Tuesday and between 32°C and 34°C on Wednesday.
Daytime temperatures in Rawalpindi are expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Tuesday and between 33°C and 35°C on Wednesday.
