Islamabad, Pakistan weather update; fog prevails in plains

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan during the next two days.

According to the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

A shallow trough is present over northern parts of the country.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected across Pakistan on Sunday evening/night and the next two days.

Smog/fog is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 05-07 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 09-11 C on Monday and 08-10 C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country and partly cloudy/cold in upper parts during the last 24 hours.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 08 C below the freezing point.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 94 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 10 C.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 76 per cent.
