ISLAMABAD – Extremely hot weather will likely prevail in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan till June 21.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these weather conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas till June 21. General public especially children, women and senior citizens have been advised to take necessary precautionary measures.
Doctors advised people to avoid direct exposure to sunlight during the daytime, especially during peak sunshine hours (11AM to 04 PM). They advised people to stay indoors and keep hydrated.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday and between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday and between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas during the last 24 hours. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in southeastern Sindh, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Jacobabad and Mohenjo-Daro remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Turbat, Nokkundi and Dadu was recorded at 45°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 44 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 42 per cent.
