TEHRAN – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it targeted a meeting of US military officers in the United Arab Emirates, saying that 37 US personnel were killed in the operation.
The IRGC said its naval forces carried out an attack on the location of a purported secret meeting of US officials in the UAE, resulting in multiple casualties, including 37 fatalities and several injuries. The claim has not been independently verified.
The IRGC further stated that since the morning, its naval units have conducted five large-scale operations targeting US military installations in the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait.
Besides it, Iranian authorities claimed that a drone strike carried out earlier in the day targeted the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the northern Indian Ocean, forcing the vessel to reposition.
A spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces issued a strong warning, asserting that Iran has never submitted to external pressure and will not compromise on its sovereignty in the future. The spokesperson added that any attack on Iran would be met with a decisive response, warning that aggressors would face severe consequences.
Iranian officials said the country’s defensive capabilities remain fully prepared to respond to any threat, reiterating that the protection of national sovereignty and citizens will remain a top priority.
The statement also emphasized that Iran maintains a policy of firm retaliation against any act of aggression and that adversaries would have to bear the consequences of their actions.
The analysts say such statements reflect rising tensions in the region and indicate increasingly hardened positions on both sides amid the evolving geopolitical situation.
