WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump has announced to hit Iran extremely hard over the next two to three weeks to achieve the America’s military objectives, a day after he signaled to exit Iran conflict without a formal deal.
Trump provided an update on Operation Epic Fury in an address to the nation. “I have made clear from the beginning of Operation Epic Fury that we will continue until our objectives are fully achieved. Thanks to the progress we’ve made, I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly — very shortly. We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We are going to bring them back to the stone ages where they belong. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing… We have all the cards; they have none,” he said.
“We are on the cusp of ending Iran’s sinister threat to America and the world,” Trump added.
He also came hard on the countries who refused to get involved in the “decapitation of Iran”.
“To those countries that can’t get fuel… I have a suggestion. Number one, buy oil from the United States of America; we have plenty. We have so much. And Number two, build up some delayed courage… Go to the Strait and just take it. Protect it. Use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated. The hard part is done.”
In these past four weeks, Trump said the US armed forces have delivered swift, decisive, overwhelming victories on the battlefield — victories like few people have ever seen before.
“Tonight, Iran’s navy is GONE. Their air force is in ruins. Their leaders, most of them — the terrorist regime they led — are now dead. Their command and control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Core is being decimated as we speak. Their ability to launch missiles and drones is dramatically curtailed and their weapons, factories, and rocket launchers are being blown to pieces — very few of them left.”
A day earlier, Trump has indicated that the ongoing tensions in the Middle East are nearing an end, emphasizing that America will complete its mission regardless of whether Tehran comes to the negotiating table.
Speaking to the media, Trump claimed that Iran has suffered significant setbacks, setting the country “20 years back,” and said the United States could withdraw from the conflict even without a formal deal if it is satisfied that the Iranian nuclear threat has been neutralized.
He added that major changes have taken place within Iran, describing the emergence of a “less extreme” group, and stressed that Washington’s goal has never been regime change but solely the elimination of the nuclear threat.
Trump suggested that the conflict could be fully resolved within two to three weeks. He noted that while a deal with Iran would be acceptable, the US does not depend on one, asserting that Iran needs a deal more than America does.
