The statement released on Telegram channel stated that the discussions covered the latest bilateral and regional issues, with Araqchi stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and intensifying joint diplomatic efforts to promote stability across the region.

Araqchi’s conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan came shortly after Saudi Arabia announced that its air defences had intercepted drones allegedly launched towards the kingdom by Iran-linked armed groups operating in Iraq.
The talks took place against the backdrop of heightened regional tensions, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining a key focus due to its strategic importance for global energy supplies.
