LAHORE – The investigators have concluded their inquiry into the harassment case involving actress Momina Iqbal and Punjab lawmaker Saqib Chadhar, finding the MPA culpable, a court was informed on Tuesday.
The development came during a hearing before Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui, who was hearing the interim bail applications of the accused.
During the proceedings, Momina Iqbal was represented by advocate Adnan Ahsan, while advocate Rana Maroof appeared on behalf of Saqib Chadhar.
Investigating Officer Najam Bajwa told the court that Chadhar’s wife, Sameera, had submitted her mobile phone to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) two days earlier as part of the investigation.
The officer said the investigation had now been completed and that Saqib Chadhar had been found culpable. He added that Sameera’s mobile phone had been sent for forensic examination, the results of which are awaited.
Counsel for Momina Iqbal requested the court to cancel the interim bail granted to the accused, arguing that their continued release could pose a threat to the actress’s safety.
After hearing the parties, the court directed both sides to present their final arguments at the next hearing and extended the interim bail of the accused until September 3.
The case will proceed after the court hears the final arguments and reviews the remaining evidence, including the forensic analysis of the seized mobile phone.
