Iran Dismisses Fresh US Sanctions Threat as ‘Desperate’ Move

Iran has dismissed the threat of fresh US sanctions, calling it a sign of desperation and insisting that the measures would not force Tehran into submission.

In a video shared on Telegram on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said the US appeared to be returning to previously used tactics after military actions had failed to achieve their objectives.

Araghchi described the expected sanctions as another repetition of “old plans,” arguing that the shift demonstrated US frustration.

He urged the US to engage with Iran on the basis of respect, saying any negotiations should seek a solution grounded in “justice and honour.”

“We have never been afraid,” he said, adding that previous US actions, including blockades and military measures, had failed and that the latest move would meet the same fate.
