Iqra University celebrates Philosophy Day

Iqra University celebrated Philosophy Day to raise awareness and understanding of the subject on a global scale.

The event, held at Iqra University’s North Campus, was attended by a  diverse group of students, faculty members, and guests. Dr. Shams Hamid, Dean of Social Sciences at Iqra University, delivered a  keynote address emphasizing the importance of critical thinking and the  role of philosophy in shaping our understanding of the world.

He urged  individuals to reflect on the meaning and purpose of life and the  growing relevance of creative and critical thinking in today’s rapidly  changing world.

To prepare students for the demands of the 21st century, Iqra University  has made philosophy and critical thinking a mandatory subject for both  undergraduate and graduate students. The event featured a variety of  student contributions, including posters, videos, drama performances,  and thought-provoking discussions.

The Director of Academics Dr. Syed  Ali Raza, Senior Journalist Sameer Mendhro, Faculty Members Uzma Anees,  Umme Sumaiya, Imran Raza, and other guests were also in attendance. The  event was organized by Dr. Iffet Sultana.
