As the Indian Supreme Court continues the hearing of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti said her party has hope from the Indian Supreme Court that it will do justice.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti in a statement in New Delhi said, “We have hopes from the Supreme Court that it will do justice. Our struggle does not end here. Our struggle will continue.” “It is not just a legal issue for me, it is an emotional issue for the people of J-K,” she added.

The Constitution bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud is hearing a batch of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution and bifurcating the territory into two union territories.

National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah talking to media men in Srinagar said the NC has engaged the best lawyers in the Supreme Court to challenge the revocation of Article 370 and expressed hope the judges will be convinced by their arguments.

“We are fighting and we are there with a hope for justice. We have not left any stone unturned, we engaged the best lawyers and their performance was appreciated by all. The hearings are on and we hope the judges will be convinced by our arguments. It will go on and we are waiting,” he told the media.—INP
