LAHORE – Former Pakistani fast bowler and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed, has revealed that India reached out to Pakistan for guidance on training fast bowlers, according to reports.
According to Javed, the communication was made through PCB’s Overseas Players Program.
Reports said Javed, who is also a member of the national selection committee, shared this information during a conversation on the PCB’s official podcast.
He elaborated on Pakistan’s cricket structure, high-performance programs, and long-term planning for player development.
During the discussion, Javed also highlighted the role of the National High Performance Center (NHPC), which he described as the PCB’s “engine room” for player growth. He revealed major plans for the National Cricket Academy (NCA), including the establishment of a fully operational biomechanics laboratory.
Furthermore, Javed spoke about the PCB’s Overseas Pathway Program, which provides coaching and training opportunities for cricketers from around the world. He noted that foreign players can now come to Pakistan for training, with players from the Netherlands and England already having participated in the program.
Aaqib Javed also revealed that this initiative will be expanded globally, and shared that India had recently contacted Pakistan for assistance, requesting guidance for their fast bowlers.
