In what proves the enforced celebrations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi government has ordered the Kashmiri people to ensure their participation in the so-called ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ campaign on India’s Independ-ence Day on August 15 by hoisting Indian flags on the rooftops of their houses.

The decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta in Srinagar, today.

All the government officers have been directed to use selfies with images of the Indian flag, Kashmiri soil and earthen lamp as Display Pictures on their social media handles. All Administrative Secretaries, Information Department, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners, and Heads of the Departments have been directed to ensure implementation of orders on the ground. The India’s main Independence Day function would be held at Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Sonawar, in Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu. No government employee is authorized to apply for leave on the day.—KMS
