Prime Minister Imran Khan has aptly likened ‘Delhi Porgom’ to Nazi Germany’s Kristallnacht when Jews in man were murdered and their homes, business and worship places were torched television footages of Delhi violence perpetrated by the ruling party BJPs goons revived tragedies of Fascist Hitler regime before World War II. One scene of Delhi violence could be enough to measure brutality of the followers of Hindutva: A family with women and children is trapped on their home’s roof and ruling party’s arsonists set the building on fire. Helpless whimpers of kids and women drown in uproars of the bloodthirsty mob. Police look on, not moving.
Delhi violence is not an isolated episode. Modi’s Fascist government has been instrumental in incidents of violence throughout the country ever since it assumed power. The illegal annexation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and lock-down of the territory now running over 210 days is another chapter of Indian Fascism.
Eight million Kashmiris have been deprived of all human liberties and suppressed by military force. BJP government in India repeats history of Nazi regime of Hitler in Germany by subscribing to Fascist philosophy of Hindutva. Voices are being raised by international community to express concerns. The UN Secretary General and UN Human Rights body chief have shown their concern over incidents of violence and human rights violations in India.
The US Commission on International Religious Freedoms has voiced grave concern over the violence that broke out as President Donald Trump was visiting India. The US president himself took up the issue in his talks with Modi. Leaders of Turkey and Malaysia have resented Indian suppression of Muslims in that country. However the international community is not yet motivated to apply some mechanism to check the rising storm of Fascism in India. History seems to being repeated again here.
While crimes against humanity were being committed in Fascist Germany, the world powers looked the other way till the storm enveloped them. German Fascists were tried in Nuremberg tribunals after much destruction had been caused. It is time the Indian Fascist regime is taken to task for committing crimes against humanity. Take lesson from history.
