District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman has said on Saturday that the 2nd immunization camping against 12 infectious diseases has started in South Waziristan Lower district from August 28, which will continue for 08 days. DHO said that the diseases that are being immunized against include TB, whooping cough, tetanus, meningitis, diphtheria, jaundice, pneumonia, typhoid, cholera, measles, polio and rubella/ measles.
The DHO said that in this regard, the health department has already said that there are 03 campaigns and the first campaign has been done in July, the second campaign has started from Monday, while the third campaign will be done in September. It should be noted that these campaigns have been started with the special support of Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhowa, DG Health KP and Director EPI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The DHO further said that these facilities will not be available after this, therefore, it is a request to all scholars, tribal elders, political leaders, youth, social activists, media persons and parents, to protect your children from these deadly diseases by getting them vaccinated during this campaign. Parents are requested to shield your children in the name of the boycott for their various demands.
