Power consumers of district Mansehra annoyed over the inflated electricity bills observed shutter down strike besides holding district wide protests and rallies. Business centres, markets and trade activities of all kind remained suspended in Mansehra city, Oghi, LassanNawab, Jabbori, Baffa, Shinkiari, Icchrian, Dhodial, Chattar Plain, Shergarh, GarhiHabibullah, Balkot and other areas.
The trade leaders, religious scholars, local bodies representatives, lawyers, political and public leaders led the protest rallies across district. The protestors termed the increase in electricity bills as unjustified and malicious.
The government should immediately withdraw all taxes in power bills, they demanded. The protestors vowed to continue protest till all the demands were fulfilled.—INP
