IIOJK authorities again seal Srinagar Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz also continues to be under house arrest

The authorities again sealed the historical Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Anjuman Auqaf of the Jamia Masjid in a statement issued in Srinagar said police officials once again closed the gates of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, and informed the Auqaf not to open the gates, as Friday prayers will not be allowed, today. This is for the second consecutive Friday that prayers are being barred again. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also continues to be under house arrest.

Meanwhile, the authorities put senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest and was not allowed to lead Friday prayers in the historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.

Similarly, the authorities in Badgam did not allow senior APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi to lead a scheduled anti-Israel demonstration outside the imambargah.

On the other hand, the authorities also put prominent Shia scholar Agha Syed Mohammad Hadi Al Moosvi under house arrest to prevent him from leading protests scheduled for today in Bemina area of Badgam in support of Palestine.—KMS
