International House of Pancakes (IHOP) opened its doors to Karachi on 20th October 2020 in the midst of the pandemic.

And after exactly a year the management celebrated its first year with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm with representation and friends from the Consulate General of the United States of America.

The event marked decades of friendship shared between Gerry’s Group and the US Mission in Pakistan; furthermore, the day of celebration was followed by a cake cutting ceremony, speeches, games and a scrumptious lavish meal to give a sweet ending to the day.

During the ceremony Akram Wali Mohammad, Group Managing Director for Gerry’s said that IHOP had an aim of setting a benchmark in making pancakes the right way, rather the only way.

He added that IHOP was working on expanding its operations to Lahore and Islamabad providing an opportunity to the people of these cities to dig into “true bite of happiness”.

Graced this occasion was Mark Stroh, Consul General of the United States of America in Karachi who stressed the United States’ commitment to expanding commercial ties with Pakistan and said “I am proud to welcome the International House of Pancakes to Pakistan and congratulate Gerry’s Group on the one-year anniversary of this exciting endeavor.

US franchises, like IHOP, account for hundreds of outlets/restaurants across Pakistan, generate thousands of local jobs supporting Pakistani families, engage in numerous activities that benefit local communities, and support Pakistan by paying significant taxes. We wish IHOP and Gerry’s continued success.”
