NEW DEHLI – The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has dismissed the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) narrative, labeling it as false.
The MEA spokesperson stated, “We have not raised any security concerns regarding Pakistan,”.
He advised the media to refer to BCCI’s statement for clarification.
It may be mentioned here that the BCCI had previously claimed that the security concerns were the reason for not touring Pakistan. The BCCI had consistently tied its decision to visit Pakistan to the Indian government’s approval.
BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla had previously stated that the board would follow the government’s directives.
However, the Indian government now made it that it is the BCCI, not the government, which expressed the concerns about touring Pakistan.
