Hot, humid weather likely

Islamabad—Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday forecast mainly hot and humid weather for most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
However, rain-thunderstorm was expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. According to the synoptic situation, seasonal low was lying over north Balochistan. A westerly wave was still affecting upper parts of the country and likely to affect during next 24 hours.
The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was Punjab: Rahim Yar Khan 64 mm, Sialkot 31, Khanpur 14, University of Punjab 04, Lahore 01, Balochistan: Sibbi 23, Sindh: Jacobabad 19, Rohri 05, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Mirkhani 16, Dir 06, Kalam 03, Drosh 02, Gilgit- Baltistan: Astore 01.
The maximum highest temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Turbat 44 C, Noorpur Thal 40 C, Nokkundi and Rohri 39 C. Meanwhile, the Karachi Met Office on Thursday forecast partly cloudy weather in the metropolis during the next 24 hours. It said the maximum temperature is expected to remain in the range between 32C and 34C with 60 to 70 per cent humidity.—APP
