LAHORE – The Punjab government has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of mosque imams, announcing that the monthly honorarium programme for eligible imams is continuing without interruption.
The Punjab government urged the beneficiaries to ignore unverified information circulating on social media.
In an official statement, the Punjab government said that reports suggesting the suspension or discontinuation of the honorarium programme are baseless and should not be trusted. The authorities advised mosque imams to obtain information only through official channels to avoid confusion and misinformation.
To facilitate beneficiaries, the Punjab Home Department has provided a dedicated WhatsApp helpline, 0311-4340000, where mosque imams can seek authenticated information about the programme, verify their status, or register complaints related to the monthly payments.
The government emphasized that the helpline has been established to ensure transparency and provide timely assistance to imams facing issues regarding the honorarium scheme. Officials encouraged beneficiaries to report any problems or discrepancies directly to the department instead of relying on unofficial social media posts or forwarded messages.
The monthly honorarium programme is part of the Punjab government’s broader initiative to support mosque imams and acknowledge their important role in promoting religious education, social harmony, and community welfare.
The local authorities said the scheme reflects the government’s commitment to improving the financial well-being of imams serving across the province.
