MULTAN – A local holiday has been announced in Multan on July 22 in connection with the 787th annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Multani.
According to a notification issued by Multan Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem, all government offices, public institutions, and district-level offices across Multan will remain closed on the occasion.
The notification stated that the holiday was declared to facilitate citizens and devotees so they can participate in the religious gatherings and events being organised as part of the annual Urs celebrations.
Upcoming Public Holiday in Pakistan
Pakistan will observe a public holiday next month on 14 August 2026 on account of Independence Day.
This year, the nation will celebrate the 80th Independence Day with a renewed pledge to work with spirit of Pakistan Movement to make country a true Islamic welfare state.
The day will dawn with thirty-one-gun salute at the Federal Capital and twenty-one gun salute at provincial headquarters.
Special prayers are offered in mosques for peace, solidarity and prosperity of the country.
