The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Punjab is responsible for collection of various taxes and duties, including motor vehicle token tax, across the province.

Motor Vehicles Tax is an important levy of Excise & Taxation Department. It brings considerable revenue and is another major source of income to the exchequer. It is administered under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1965 and Motor Vehicle Tax Act, 1958.

Token tax for vehicle is paid by the owner on annual basis. The tax is calculated on the basis of the engine capacity of the vehicles.

The excise collects one-time Rs15,000 token tax on the cars with engine capacity of 1000cc while there are different slabs for other vehicles above 1000cc.

Honda City Token Tax Excise Punjab

Honda City is one of the popular models manufactured by Honda in Pakistan. It comes with two engine capacities – 1.2 and 1.5. The actual displacement of engine of the Honda City is 1199cc.

The excise department collects Rs1,800 in token tax every year from those who own Honda City 1.2.
