MELBOURNE – The Consulate General of Pakistan in Melbourne will observer holidays on April 3 and six on account of Easter holidays.
It has shared a press release on social media, stating: “The Consulate General of Pakistan, Melbourne will remain closed during Easter holidays on Friday, 03rd April 2026 (Good Friday) and Monday, 06th April 2026 (Easter Monday)”.
The consulate staff would observe four day break as there are weekly offs on Saturday (April 4) and Sunday (April 5).
Pakistani embassies in other countries where Easter holidays are announced will also remain closed.
Meanwhile, Punjab police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements across the province ahead of Good Friday and Easter to ensure that the Christian community can observe their religious rituals in a peaceful environment.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Kareem confirmed that full security coverage would be provided for the events. According to officials, over 30,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed across the province.
For Good Friday, more than 13,000 officers will oversee 2,270 programs, while over 17,000 personnel will manage security at 3,153 Easter events. In Lahore alone, more than 5,000 police officers will be deployed for both occasions.
The IG instructed that sensitive churches receive additional security with snipers, commandos, and thorough identity checks for all attendees. Police and community volunteers have been advised to remain vigilant and monitor suspicious activity, individuals, and items closely.
