LAHORE – Adam Zampa has said he decided to step away from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after feeling that his remuneration did not match his skill level.
Adam Zampa accepted an unexpected opportunity to participate in the HBL PSL 2026.
In an interview with a local sports platform added that the transition happened quickly and he is enjoying his experience in the league.
The spinner, who recently joined Karachi Kings, has impressed with his performances in the ongoing tournament and also praised the overall standard of the PSL.
The Australian leg-spinner stated that the IPL required a significant time commitment while not offering him compensation comparable to other players of similar standing. He said continuing in the league was not the right decision for him.
Zampa, who is currently representing Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), revealed that he had initially planned to take a break from cricket after leaving the IPL.
Zampa also commended Shaheen Afridi, captain of Lahore Qalandars, describing him as an outstanding bowler capable of producing something special with every delivery.
