ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President and former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif visited the Digital Communication Department (DCD) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Secretary for Information Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, and other senior officials of the Ministry welcomed Hamza Shehbaz Sharif.
Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar gave Hamza Shehbaz Sharif a detailed briefing on the various sections, scope, functions and operations of the Digital Communication Department.
“Digital media has become an effective means of disseminating information and connecting with the public in the present era,” said Attaullah Tarar.
“Preventing negative propaganda and fabricated news against Pakistan is an important responsibility of the Digital Communication Department,” he said.
“Highlighting the government’s positive initiatives and the national narrative on digital platforms in accordance with modern requirements is an important need of the hour,” Attaullah Tarar added.
He said the Digital Communication Department and PTV Digital are playing an important role in achieving this objective.
Hamza Shehbaz Sharif expressed keen interest in the ongoing activities of various sections of the Digital Communication Department.
He appreciated the Ministry of Information’s efforts in the field of digital communication.
“Digital media is an important means of providing timely information to the public and effectively highlighting government initiatives,” Hamza Shehbaz Sharif said.
He said the effective use of digital platforms can help convey Pakistan’s positive image and national narrative to the world.
Hamza Shehbaz Sharif termed the Ministry of Information’s ongoing initiatives in digital communication and its use of modern technology commendable.
The meeting also discussed public engagement and effective communication through digital technology, social media and other platforms.
Matters related to further expanding the digital reach of content through PTV Digital were also discussed.
Hamza Shehbaz Sharif was also briefed on the ongoing initiatives in the field of digital communication.
Federal Minister Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Minister of State Abdul Rehman Kanju, Prime Minister’s Media Coordinator Badr Shehbaz Waraich, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Talha Barki were also present on the occasion.
