LAHORE – The government has released Rs112.7 million in funds for public schools in Lahore. The funds, provided by the Finance Department under the non-salary budget, cover the first quarter of the fiscal year, including July, August, and September.
According to the School Education Department, the funds can be used for school construction and repairs, welfare initiatives, and salaries of temporary teachers and staff. The second quarter installment is expected to be released by December.
In a separate development, the Punjab Board of Technical Education has announced the termination of vocational boys’ and evening programs.
Starting from the 2026–27 academic year, admissions will no longer be offered in one- and two-year vocational programs.
The decision was made in accordance with the National Registration SOPs 2024. Current students will be allowed to complete their remaining examination chances.
