Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, inaugurated the Zaitoon Ashraf IT Park, established near the Baloch Colony Bridge under the administration of the Saylani Welfare International Trust. The IT Park is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the founder of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri, along with foreign diplomats, including Consul Generals from Bahrain, Malaysia, the UAE, Turkey, Japan, Indonesia, and the Deputy Consul General of Iran, as well as prominent business figures and city elites.
During his address, the Governor remarked, “By establishing this IT Park, Saylani has achieved another milestone in the field of Information Technology.” He added that the goal of providing advanced IT education to the youth is to enhance foreign exchange earnings. In this regard, the government is fully supporting private sector and nonprofit IT programs. He further emphasized the increasing importance of telecommunications and information technology in today’s world.GovernorTessori expressed that his appointment notification was issued on the blessed day of 12th Rabi’ al-Awwal, a personal honor. He vowed to serve humanity following the principles of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and stated that any plan he had merely thought of was blessed with divine assistance.GovernorTessori also revealed that a draft plan for “What Pakistan should look like in 2040” has been prepared in consultation with all stakeholders. This draft, aimed at boosting investment, trade, and business activities, will be presented at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on December 25. The draft also identifies flaws in various sectors and suggests improvements. It will be shared with political leaders as well.The Governor paid tribute to Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri for his social and educational contributions, stating that his mission is to transform the entire province into an IT hub. When asked about the Afghan diplomat’s recent conduct, Governor Tessori said the diplomat should have adhered to diplomatic protocols, and that the Afghan government should recall him and send someone more familiar with these protocols.
He also noted that it is crucial to change the negative narrative about Pakistan worldwide, and called on diplomats to assist in this effort.In his speech, Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri said, “By 2035, Saylani’s IT experts will eliminate Pakistan’s reliance on IMF and World Bank loans. We have envisioned a future where we no longer have to bow before these institutions.” Consul General of the UAE, Bakheet Al-Rumaithi, said the next two years would mark a period of transformation and progress for Pakistan. He praised Saylani’s efforts, stating, “Today’s event is evidence that the process of change has already begun.
The youth of Pakistan should not lose hope.”AfzalChamdia, head of Saylani’s education division, remarked that the world is entering the fourth industrial revolution through IT, and with efforts from the President, Governor, and Saylani, Pakistan is now part of this revolution. He stressed that IT will be the sector to lift Pakistan out of its economic challenges. Chamria also thanked Asif Jhangda and his daughter, Irtiqa Hassan, for their support in establishing the Zaitoon Ashraf IT Park.Earlier, when Governor Tessori arrived at the IT Park, he was welcomed by Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri, CEO Muhammad Ghazal, trustees Afzal Chamdia, and AmjadChamdia.
The Governor, accompanied by the Consul Generals, toured the second floor of the building, where they met with Saylani students who had launched their own startups after receiving training from the organization. The Governor also interacted with the students during his visit.
