LONDON – International credit card company Mastercard will pay millions in consumer compensation after a landmark ruling by court over Unfair Fees charged in past.
If you have ever used your Mastercard in the UK, you could soon rake in £70 in compensation. As recent legal case focused on fees charged to retailers between 90s and 2008, Mastercard users can file claim.
Also, you don’t even need to have used a Mastercard to qualify, but if you did, your chance of being eligible is even stronger. If you regularly paid with the same company in Britain, it’s likely you contributed more than others to the transaction volume affected by the unfair fees.
As fees were aimed at retailers, the cost was often passed on to customers. Now, you can finally get some of that money back.
