ISLAMABAD – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad, where he met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as two sides focused on advancing bilateral ties and addressing evolving tensions in the region.
‘Iron Brothers’ underscored importance of enhanced collaboration, operational readiness, and joint responses to emerging security challenges. Air Chief Marshal Sidhu welcomed ambassador Zaidong and hailed the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China, calling it as one built on “mutual trust, strategic convergence, and a shared commitment to regional peace.”
He emphasized that the “Iron Brotherhood” between the two countries continues to grow stronger, supported by close defence cooperation, technological collaboration, and shared goals.
Pak Air Chief also acknowledged Beihing consistent support in Pakistan’s defence modernization efforts, particularly in human capital development, technology transfer, and joint research initiatives. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s intent to institutionalize regular high-level exchanges and expand joint operational exercises to bolster collective defence capabilities.
Ambassador Jiang expressed high praise for the Pakistan Air Force’s performance during the recent standoff on the eastern front, calling it a testament to PAF’s professionalism, strategic acumen, and effective use of both Chinese-origin and indigenous systems. He commended the PAF’s leadership for its commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
Highlighting China’s unwavering support, the ambassador assured continued technical assistance to further enhance Pakistan’s air defence capabilities. He also noted Pakistan’s progress toward self-reliance in defence technology, stating that such efforts are producing promising outcomes and should be further encouraged.
The high-level meeting reinforced the deep-rooted strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and their mutual commitment to regional stability through cooperation, innovation, and shared security goals.
