KARACHI – Gold prices recorded a slight decline across Pakistan on Saturday, with the price of a tola falling by Rs500 after several consecutive days of increases.
All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association said that the price of one tola of gold decreased to Rs459,936 from the previous level.
The price of 10 grams of gold also declined by Rs429, settling at Rs394,320.
The latest decrease came amid a modest decline in international gold prices. In the global market, gold fell by $5 to $4,375 per ounce.
The domestic bullion market has remained closely linked to movements in international gold prices, while fluctuations in the exchange rate and changes in global economic conditions also influence prices in Pakistan.
The gold prices have remained elevated in recent weeks, reflecting continued demand for the precious metal as an investment and a traditional store of value.
The metal is widely considered a safe-haven asset, particularly during periods of economic uncertainty and volatility in international financial markets.
The latest decline, however, was relatively small compared with the overall level of gold prices, which remain near historically high levels.
