Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, leading a parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Belarus, visited the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology and the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, highlighting new avenues for cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus in advanced healthcare, technology, knowledge exchange and cultural heritage.
During the visit to the medical centre, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, Chairman Senate and the Pakistani delegation were briefed on Belarus’ advanced capabilities in organ transplantation, robot-assisted surgery, AI-based diagnostics and CAR-T therapy. The delegation also witnessed a live procedure at the Centre’s hybrid operating complex equipped with integrated CT and angiographic technologies, says a press release.
Chairman Senate appreciated Belarus’ advancements in specialized healthcare and emphasized the potential for institutional linkages, professional and academic exchanges, sharing of expertise and cooperation in emerging medical technologies. At the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, the delegation viewed exhibits documenting the immense human cost of the war, the resistance of the Belarusian people and their sacrifices during the liberation of Belarus. Chairman Senate paid tribute to the courage and resilience of the Belarusian people and appreciated Belarus’ efforts to preserve its historical memory and heritage.
Chairman Senate underscored that parliamentary engagement, people-to-people contacts, knowledge sharing and cooperation in modern sectors can further broaden and deepen Pakistan-Belarus relations, contributing to greater mutual understanding and strengthening the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
