Federal Government extends his tenure for another two years with immediate effect
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has reappointed Gauhar Zahid Malik as a Member of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Council of Complaints, Islamabad, for another two-year term.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Internal Publicity Wing), the reappointment has been made with the approval of the Federal Government and will take effect immediately.
Gauhar Zahid Malik has once again been entrusted with the responsibility of serving on the Council of Complaints, Islamabad, reflecting confidence in his professional experience and continued contribution to the media regulatory framework.
The notification also announced the reconstitution of the Islamabad Council of Complaints under the chairmanship of Syed Muhammad Ali, with Ms. Fouzia Shahid, Gauhar Zahid Malik, Mr. Kaiwan Hamid Raja, and Dr. Surayya Kanwal Afridi serving as members.
Friends, colleagues and members of the media fraternity have congratulated Gauhar Zahid Malik on his reappointment, expressing confidence that he will continue to contribute effectively towards promoting responsible journalism and addressing public complaints relating to electronic media.
The reappointments will remain effective for a period of two years, according to the official notification issued on July 20, 2026.
