ISLAMABAD – The Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) on Tuesday reported low-level flooding at Tarbela and Kalabagh on the Indus River and at Head Khanki on the Chenab River.
The FFD said that the water flows remain within normal limits in the Indus River from Chashma to Kotri, as well as in the Jhelum, Ravi, Sutlej, Kabul, and other major tributaries of the Chenab and Ravi rivers.
The division said Tarbela Dam is currently 61 percent full, while Mangla Dam has reached 41 percent of its storage capacity.
It added that reservoir levels remain lower than those recorded on the same date last year. On July 21 last year, Tarbela Dam was 80 percent full, while Mangla Dam stood at 51 percent capacity.
The Flood Forecasting Division is continuously monitoring river conditions as monsoon flows continue across the country’s river system.
