Islamabad Khanna police has busted a gang of thieves and recovered cash, gold ornaments, motorbike and weapons from them, a police spokesman said.
According to details, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in theft. Following these orders, DIG (Operations) Waqar-Ud-Din Syed has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.
Following these directions, SP (Rural) Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted special teams under supervision of DSP Ghulam Mustafa, Station House Officer (SHO) Khanna police station Sub-Inspector Mirza Muhammad Gulfraz, ASI Zaheer Ahmed and others, which successfully busted four members’ thief gang. They have been identified as Abbas Khan, Imtaiz, Aadam Khan and Bhadar khan. Police team recovered stolen cash, gold ornaments, motorbike and five pistols along with ammunition from their possession.
During preliminary investigation, these nabbed persons confessed their involvement in many cases of theft in various areas of Khanna police stations. Further investigation is underway from them.
The DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin has appreciated this performance of Khanna police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for team members.
