Four layers security must be provided to sensitive and central processions and Majalis during Muharramul Haram in all districts of the province. Whereas for security of mourners, walk thorough gates and metal detectors should be used for full-fledged search and monitoring through CCTV and Video Recording should also be arranged in this regard.
Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir issued the directives while chairing video link conference of all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs at Central Police Office here on Monday. On this occasion, all RPOs and DPOs briefed the IGP via video link about security arrangements taken for Muharram in their respective districts.
Shoaib Dastgir directed the officers to ensure timings of processions and majalis are followed at any cost and search, sweep, combing and intelligence based operations should be continued in the vicinity of sensitive imambargahs, mourning sessions and Majalis whereas snipers should be deployed on rooftops of buildings situated on routes of sensitive processions and Majalis.
He said that, for arising sense of protection among citizens, under supervision of senior officers, Dolphin, Traffic and other field formations must undertake flag march in all districts whereas special focus should given on cleanliness and lights on places of Majalis and routes of mourning processions of Muharram.
